Gamesys Group purchased by Virgin Games

Virgin Games and The Gamesys Group announced on the 6th of January that Gamesys Group has been purchased by Virgin Games.

Virgin Games is one of the world’s best known brands and is part of the Virgin Group of Companies.
Virgin Games has stated that Gamesys will carry on as usual and would work towards increasing its presence internationally and to develop social and play for money games. This is a strong area for Gamesys who have already partnered with Facebook for bingo and slot games aimed towards the U.K market. There are no expected changes within the organization from a staffing perspective however it is expected that Virgin Games will work towards better integration with Gamesys proprietary technology and software. These changes are expected to be completed within the first quarter of 2013.

The Gamesys Group consists of four separate companies including Mice and Dice Limited, Leisure Spin Limited and Profitable Play Limited. Each caters to a different segment within the industry and is regarding as cutting edge software. In recent years Gamesys has substantial growth within the online gaming industry. It has franchised its software to 250 licensees to date and continued growth is expected under the Virgin Groups ownership. Gamesys develops proprietary software and markets its own brands directly and are based in Gibraltar. It reported revenues of £125 million in 2012.
