Microgaming Announced “Game Of Thrones” licensing agreement

Microgaming, based in the Isle of Man, announced that they have signed a new licensing agreement with HBU Global Licensing. This new agreement signed by both parties will allow for Microgaming to release various video slots based around the “Game of Thrones” universe. This is a major deal for Microgaming as “Game of Thrones” is one of the most popular programs on TV.

The first Game of Thrones slot will be released later during the year which will incorporate a fantasy designed meant to resemble the original feeling of the show. The Game of Thrones Franchise wasn’t originally a TV show but is actually a book series developed by George R.R. Martin. The novels which were first released in 1996 were called “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

The Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever spoke about the licensing agreement saying, “We are thrilled to gain this licensing agreement for Game of Thrones. This highly popular TV program has become a part of our culture and is beloved by millions of people all across the globe. We look forward to providing a gambling experience that can mimic the show, novels and more that is “Game of Thrones”. We have a list of other brands under our belt but none have been quite as popular as Game of Thrones.”

HBO Global Director for Licensing Josh Goodstadt also commented saying, “Game of Thrones is one of HBO’s best Television programs. We know Microgaming will be able to make an incredible casino game through this licensing deal. We hope their players and our fans enjoy the experience. ”
